Membership Seniority
Seniority in the club is based on the start date of the membership and must be current with no breaks. Seniority plays a role in campsite selection, 10x10 site selection, and event ticket purchases. The motivation behind having member seniority is awarding the members that help build this club with the ability to keep their favorite camp spots and ensure they are able to come to future events.
Campsite Selection
10x10 Tents
You are encouraged to group up with some friends and set up a 10x10 tent in the designated area. Like camping spots, the 10x10 selection window is 2 hours and the most senior member gets priority over any disputed spots. Decorate it however you are inspired, but make sure it’s a comfortable spot to find shade from the sun and protection from any rain. There is a trophy awarded to the best tent and the winner is announced after the last band has played. The tent that wins the trophy then redecorates the trophy for the next event.
Event Ticket Purchases
Seniority plays a role in buying tickets for club events if space is limited or the club grows to a number that the venue cannot support. Members have until 3 days prior to an event to lock in a ticket. If a more senior member wants to attend an event that has limited spaces and the event is sold out, the member with the least amount of seniority will be refunded all funds and lose their spot. I really don’t want to turn members away, so I will see if there are staff spots or community station spots available so the member may still attend under a different category of ticket. I don’t see this happening anytime soon, but it’s in place to ensure that the members building this club will always have a place at the events as the club grows. I am doing my best to keep ticket prices low because I know that money is tight for most these days. That being said, it also takes money to make the things happen. Contact us if interested in volunteering, performing, or running a community station to help with costs of the event.
All the things you need to know about the Burning Love Club.
This club’s primary function is to unite the community through joyful private events.
We try gather for a 2 day campout 4 times a year.
Campouts are currently held at the Waimea Canyon Vineyards.
Please check out the Venue Page for details and expectations of the Vineyard. The next campout is the 1st Annual Halloween Campout on October 25th-27th.
Epic Businesses
We have a list of epic businesses that we’d like to see do well. Check the Epic Businesses Page often as new businesses are added after each event. If you have a business that you’d like to see on the Epic Businesses Page, submit that business (for free) before the next event and we’ll put it on the ballot to vote on the 2nd day of the next available campout. Once it passes with a majority vote (every member receives a ballot upon entry), the logo is placed on the club shirt and the business gets added to the Epic Businesses Page for no charge.
Malama Kauai
Our non-profit partner is Malama Kauai. We work with them on bringing awareness and getting volunteers to programs that greatly impact the community. Check the Malama Kauai Page to see their current projects for the community and let us know if it’s in your flow to help out. They have an amazing summer program every year that helps get local, home grown, food to children in low income housing situations; as one example of the many types of missions they are looking for help with. Let’s help them do epic.
2 Day Campouts
A 2 Day Campout is how we decided to hold our quarterly meetings. They are 2% business and 98% community building. Since the primary function of the club is to build the community, we figured our meetings should focus primarily on that. Camping together for 2 nights is a very effective way to bring people together. Live music will always be scheduled for both evenings of the campout and dancing is encouraged. If you want to spin fire during the music, you will need to check in with the fire safety. Please read through the Venue Page thoroughly for the do’s and do not’s of the Venue. Respect and compliance are crucial for our campouts to continue. We strive to leave the Waimea Canyon Vineyards in a better condition than when we arrived.
Camping Tent and 10x10 Tent Selection
First, we recommend bringing a camping tent and setting it up in 1 of 3 possible zones. Pick the zone that best meets your sleeping schedule.
Zone 1 is the late night zone. Expect reasonable noise late. No minors in the zone after dusk.
Zone 2 is the temperate zone. Quietish time starts at midnight.
Zone 3 is the family zone. No smoking or open containers. Quiet time starts at 10 p.m. Must have kids or know the family of someone with kids to be in this zone.
Second, we recommend getting with some friends/family and setting up a 10x10 in the popup zone to provide some protection from the elements. Make it comfortable and decorate it however you are inspired. The best voted 10x10 tent at the campout will receive $200 dollars.
Structured tent selection happens from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on the first day of a campout. Member seniority play a roll during this 2 hour window. After 3:00 pm it’s first come first serve. If 2 members want the same campsite or 10x10 site during this 2 hour window, the most senior member will have priority. The Waimea Canyon Vineyard is very large, but the level ground is limited. Come early and maintain your membership to guarantee a good spot. More info on types of memberships and member seniority can be found below.

50% Ownership
Members own 50% of the club. They decide where 50% of the profit is spent. They also have the tie breaker when it comes to voting. So if everybody wants it, it passes the vote. This is your club. We handle all the paperwork, taxes, insurances, etc… but the club’s members are its greatest asset. Together we can do great things. Let’s do epic!
